One Card, Three Challenges

AAA card challenge 112

I originally thought of this card for the AAA cards CAS game #112 technique challenge.   One of my absolute favorite technique is creating a scene with stamps by masking.

CWS_25 CAS Sentiment (2nd Anniv)

Creative with stamps challenge #25 challenges to create a CAS card with a sentiment, and this card definitely fit that perfectly so I entered it into this challenge also.

This week SSS Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes, and this card is more than anything so I entered it!  Also, if you haven’t heard the news, SSS Wednesday Challenge is looking for DT members for the next year, if interested you can find the info here: SSS Wednesday Challenge DT Call.

AAA card challenge #112

This card looks so simple, but it took me a while to create, but really enjoyed creating it!  I used one of Newton’s Nook Designs new stamp sets, Once Upon a Princess.  When I saw this stamp set I had to get it, and the twin set, Knight’s Quest.  I new I would enjoy creating and coloring these images!

I stamped the Princess holding the frog on x-press it blending paper and then stamped a second one on thin 65lb white cardstock to use for the masking.  I also stamped the crown on the frog.  I cut out the thin princess and then used washi tape to adhere over the stamped image.  I then stamped the castle behind the princess and then a second time on the thin white cardstock to use for masking.  I just cut the bottom of the castle since I only needed it to mask for the grass.  Next, I stamped the potted tree to the right of the princess and a second time on the thin white cardstock and cut out for masking.  I now have three masking images taped down, the princess, the castle, and the tree to the right and now I stamped the grass two times, once under the castle and once under the princess and tree.  I love the grass hills from MFT Ewe are the Best stamp and die set and use them often!  The last potted tree I just stamped and fussy cut out.

I spend some relaxing time color with copic markers, I used so many markers I’m not going to list them but if you want to know a specific set just comment below.  To finish the card I added the potted tree to the left of the princess by gluing the bottom down and using a pop dot on the top to add dimension.  I die cut the stitched rectangle using MFT stitched inside out rectangle die-namics and trimmed the stamped scene using SSS slopes and hills stitched die set. I then die cut two MFT stitched clouds using white glitter paper and glued the large one down and pop dotted the other. The sentiment I stamped using versafine ink.  Lastly, my embellishments I added were using liquid pearls in red on the roses and white on the dress.

I always love to add something special to the inside of my cards, just a treat for the recipient of the card!  I used the MFT stitched inside out rectangle die-namics and stamped the sentiment.  I stamped and copic colored the frog from NND Once Upon a Princess stamp set.  The cloud was an extra from die cutting earlier and thought it looked great here!

I love how the scene is the center of attention on this card!

Thanks for visiting!
