This color challenge was a little more challenging for me. The colors to use are cotton candy, ripe raspberry, lemon chiffon, and lemon drop. Pretty much light and dark pink and light and dark yellow, two colors instead of four.
Zofia Molnar created this amazing rainbow color clouds card for her backdrop and suggested I give it a try. So…I decided I wanted to do a setting sun yellow backdrop. I love how it pops the pink hot air balloons and the sentiment really stands out!
To create this card I used a cloud stencil I cut from my cameo and used Tim Holtz distress oxide inks, Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber. I trimmed it a little smaller than the card base and added a frame cut from mft scalloped stitched rectangle die-namics. The hot air balloons I stamped from In Paris stamp and die set and colored with copic markers. The sun is from the mft stitched sun die-namics. I die cut out the sun and used the same two yellow oxide inks to color it. On the hot air balloons I added some rows of pink gems.
Inside, I colored another cloud scene and die cut a smaller scalloped stitched frame and glued over it. I added one more colored hot air balloon.
I definately going to be creating more cloud colored backdrops! They are quick and easy and very stunning! You know it’s cool when your husband comments on how neat it looks!
