This is my first entry into the YNS Challenge and I went with just the sketch for this one. I had to get some of their adorable stamp sets and really wanted to play with the One In a Melon stamp set.
I love combining black and white with bold colors, especially were watermelon is concerned! The contrast just helps the images and colors really pop!
I stamped the sentiment repeatedly to make the top strip and die cut a stitch scallop on top. The bottom strip I repeated the banner and colored with copic markers. The friend on top I cut multiples out of thick white cardstock, layered, and inked with oxide inks.
The adorable bird on the watermelon is just one of many in the One In a Melon stamp set, they even have little hamsters with watermelon! I stamped the bird rollin’ on the watermelon and colored with copic markers.
Inside, I die cut with a wonky stitch the black and white pattern paper and added another wonky stitched inked one on top. I stamped the sentiment which literally describes the image I added (even made my 17 year old son laugh!).
I am so excited to use this stamp set over and over and over again! I already have some cross stitched watermelon that I’m going to use the hamsters with, so stay tuned…
