I hope you have had a chance to see all the amazing new September release at Craftin Desert Divas this past week. If not, go see, and look on the Craftin Desert Divas blog at the fabulous DT inspirations! I have been enjoying being a guest DT member this month, and really loved creating with this versatile HOLIDAY FAIRIES stamp set, you get both Halloween and Christmas in it! Whoo-hoo!
For this card I used a lot of awesome CDD product:
- HOLIDAY FAIRIES STAMP SET
- Outdoor landscape 2 die set for the birch tree & fence
- fall borders dies for the trees
- flag banner dies
- inside scalloped circle dies
- hello sunshine 6×6 paper pad
- wilted violet & blueprint sketch oxide inks for the sky
- squeezed lemonade, wild honey, & carved pumpkin oxide inks for the trees
- lilac & starburst sequins
- memento black ink & versamark
This card looks like it took all day, but it really didn’t take all to long! I started by trimming the pattern paper, rounding the two corners and die cutting the circle. I then took watercolor paper and inked with wilted violet & blueprint sketch inks and flicked some watered down white paint with a paint brush all over it. While that dried, I die cut the trees and inked them with squeezed lemonade, wild honey & carved pumpkin. Next, I die cut the birch tree & fence from black cardstock. I then die cut the banner, stamped with sentiment, and heat embossed in white. I stamped the HOLIDAY FAIRIES halloween cutie, colored with copic markers and fussy cut her out.
To put it all together, I glued the birch tree, fence, and tree border to the back of the pattern paper and pop dotted over the purple sky. I then added the fairy with pop dots and added stickles to her wings. The banner I pop dotted and then added the purple and stars sequins in a trail coming from her wand.
Who doesn’t love a magical witch!? I loved using the fall colors in this card and hope it inspires you! Check out all the wonderful DT inspiration at Craftin Desert Divas blog! The full release is out here.
