Pirate Pals! Arrr!

We are on Day 2 at Craftin Desert Divas of January’s sneak peek release!  If you love cute adorable critters dressed up as Pirates, than this is the stamp set for you!  The new release will be available on 1/16!

Craftin Desert Divas has a large selection of items to create lots of pirate themed projects!  I used these ones to create this card:

I knew I wanted to create a treasure map for these pirate pals to hide behind, so I started with watercolor paper and inked with antique linenfrayed burlap, & gathered twigs.  I die cut the inked paper with the largest torn paper die, keeping the two pieces together.  Next, I took the stitched rectangle die and ran it part way through the die cutting machine to get my flip tab. I set this aside for a while.

I stamped all my images from Pirate Pals stamp set using memento ink, colored with copic markers, fussy cut out, and added detail with the white pen.

On the inside, I inked the burst stencil with broken china ink on white cardstock and trimmed to fit behind the opening.  I added the pirate pals and lots of sequins in the treasure chest.  I then pop dotted this behind the treasure map and pop dotted on a trimmed black cardstock.

To finish up the front, I added the stamped and colored images from Pirate Pals with pop dots, stamped the sentiment in versafine, and added the sending die cut from gold foil paper.  For the final touches, I drew dashed lines with a copic marker and added a few more gold sequins.

I hope you continue to follow our January release as the CDD design team share their amazing projects with you!
