A Very Pink Snow Day!

I have really been enjoying trying non traditional colors for seasons and holidays lately and I will most likely continue that trend since I am loving the results!

I also created this for an awesome crafty friend, Saedi, who spent tons of time talking with me about dropping my son off at college and was a great listener when I needed it!

I used some adorable snowmen stamp sets from Create a Smile:

I started my slimline with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base and used the leftover piece for the front.  You can use size 9A envelopes which can easily be purchased at your local craft store or online.

I created the sky background by heat embossing the ferris wheel of snowmen in white and blended with wilted violet, picked raspberry & spun sugar.  I then created a mask to cover the ferris wheel and with the snow stencil I created the falling snow with pearlescent mousse.

While I let that dry, I die cut the snowhills and lightly added some pumice stone to the tops.  Next, I heat embossed the sentiment in black.

I stamped all the adorable snowmen, colored with copics to match the sky, fussy cut out and then added some white pen accents.

To finish up the card, I layered the snowhills and pop dotted up the snowmen.  For my embellishments, I added some snowflakes and sequins that had the same coloring.

I love the results of these colors!  I hope you are inspired to try a non traditional color palette on your next card!  The easiest way is to pick 2-3 colors and use it throughout the card.

Thank you for visiting!
