Thanks Mandalas

Today I stepped out of my comfort zone in crafting and tried something new and do I ever love the end result!  The best advice I got from the Create a Smile’s DT about creating with flowers and shapes were to heat emboss and use vellum.  I chose both for this elegant card!

I used some of the new September release along with some older products:

I started my card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which fits perfectly into the size 9A envelopes.

For the background, I first heat embossed the mandalas in white and inked with aged mahogany, victorian velvet & tattered rose leaving a little white in the center for the sentiments.

I adhered the background in the corner for a different angle on the card base.

Next, I heat embossed the floral decorations in gold on vellum and trimmed around them and added them loosely with glue dots.

I then die cut the banner, heat embossed the sentiment in gold and trimmed off the end.  Above the banner I added the die cut thanks from gold foil layered on white cardstock.

For the final touches I added different sized pearls.

I may have to try some more of these style cards, I loved the results and I loved that this card came together in less than 2 hours!  That is a fast card for me!

You can visit the Create a Smile’s store to see the whole new September release.

Thanks for stopping by!
