AAA Card Challenge #118-Use a Frame

My friend is having her wedding reception this weekend and I needed to make a simple card with gray and whites to go with her wedding gift.  I LOVE, I mean really LOVE, this new stamp set from Simon Says Stamps, Beautiful Flowers stamp set.

AAA cards challenge #118

This was a pretty quick card.  I simply heat embossed the images and sentiments in silver.  I cut two of the images out and colored with copic markers: BG000 & G20.  I then die cut the frame, used foam tape on the frame and the two colored images, and added grey nuvo drops for my sparkle.

The products I used are:

Inside, I heat embossed the image and sentiment in silver and then die cut using the Craftin Desert Divas Inside Scallop Frame dies.

A simple, but perfect and elegant wedding card for my friend!

AAA Cards CAS Challenge- 4th Birthday Bash #116

AAA Card Challenge #116-4th Birthday Bash

I am in love with this flower stamp set from Simon Says Stamps June card kit!  I wanted to color this flower set with deep colors this time and play with the sentiments.

To keep it simple and CAS I just used part of the large stamp colored with copic markers and prismacolor colored pencils and cut part of the leaves to come through the stitched frame from MFT.  I stamped the sentiment using the colors from the flowers, pine needles and dusty concord TH distress inks.  My final touches are some enamel dots in the purple and green colors.

Inside, I added the other side of the large flower stamp that I had colored with the copic markers and stamped the sentiment with the distress inks.  I framed the sentiment with stitched scallop frame from MFT.

The colors of this card are gorgeous with the black ink and I love how the colored pencils add a deep dimension to the petals!

AAA Card Challenge #115 Inspired by Nature

I have been on a cross stitch craze lately, and since it is beginning to be watermelon season, I had to cross stitch this card.

AAA card challenge 115

I cross stitched the watermelon scene from white cardstock I die cut from MFT cross stitch die.  I then added a stitched scallop frame die cut from white cardstock.  I pop dotted this in the center of my card base.  My added bling is the sunshine I die cut from gold foil paper.

Inside, I die cut the sun from gold foil paper and added the red stitched scallop frame around the sentiment from Your Next Stamp One in a Melon.  Lastly, I added one punched velvet red heart to the top corner.

I love how the white really pops the colors of summer in this sweet card!

AAA CAS Challenge #114-Tic Tac Toe

AAA CAS Card Challenge #114-Tic Tac Toe

The tic tac toe challenges are fun because you get to choose your design!  I chose to do the left row down, gold, water colors, and flowers for a Mother’s day card.

AAA card challenge 114

I used the flower cluster from the Simon Says Flower Bliss stamp set and used the Tim Holtz oxide inks to water color the flowers.  I then die cut the happy from Mama Elephant happy script die from gold glitter paper.  The mother’s day I heat embossed in gold and the stamp comes from a close to my heart stamp set.  I framed all of it with the MFT scallop stitched frame with white on white for a simple anchor.

I am sending these to my sister-in-laws for mother’s day.  I like that they are mail ready but lots of colors to still shine!

AAA Cards Challenge #113-Perfect Day

When this challenge came out we had just gotten through an April blizzard here in Minneapolis with over 15 inches of snow, even today when I’m posting we still have piles of snow melting.  The idea of a Perfect Day was Spring! So I had to do a Spring card with new birds!

AAA challenge 113

Purple Onion Designs are one of my all time favorite stamp company for their amazing images and detail.  To make this simple card, I stamped the tree and birds on watercolor paper and colored with copic markers and watercolored with oxide inks.  I then framed it with MFT stitched frame die-namics that I then die cut with MFT inside & out stitched rectangle die-namics.  I stamped the sentiment in black versafine ink for a nice crisp print and pop dotted over the card base.  I added one purple sequin to pop the flowers in the tree.

Inside, I wanted to use the sentiment and since it is a long sentiment I decided to use a long stitched fishtail banner from mft and I used the the flowers from purple onion designs stamps and colored with copic markers.

The simple design and watercolor image is quite lovely with the color combo of blue and purple.  It made me happy for Spring, which is coming to MN a little too slow for my taste!
