Soaring Together!

I am continuing my Christmas in July just to try and stay ahead of schedule this year!  Being a card maker means your family and friends expect a handmade Christmas card and I want to be prepared this year!

This sweet card is a CAS card, which is usually not my style but when you are needing to make lots of cards, it helps immensely!

0715-soaring friends christmas card

I started my card by trimming watercolor paper a little smaller than my base and die cut the snowflake flurries near the top and then inked the paper with shaded lilac oxide ink, fading where I was placing the image.

I stamped the Doxie and friend, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  Next, I stamped the sentiment and trimmed to make a long strip banner.

To put it all together, I glued the three snowflakes left from the die cut flurry, added purple sequins, and nuvo drops in silver & purple.

I hope you are inspired to pull out your christmas stamps early and Craftin Desert Divas has a huge selection for you to get started now!

Thank you!

Christmas Trolls Wish Big

Christmas in July really works for card makers because in the crafting community you have to start early to get it all done in time!  Today I have a sweet slim line with adorable Christmas caroling trolls!

0708-christmas cheer trolls slim line

For this slim line card I started with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base and trimmed another piece to fit a little smaller along the top and bottom.  I then inked the cardstock with cracked pistachio oxide ink.  I set that aside while I die cut the wish big from gold foil paper and lined it up on the front to see where to stamp the music notes.

I then stamped the trolls, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  Next, i tucked them behind the wish big and pop dotted it all on the front.

For my final touches I added some pink sequins along with white and gold nuvo drops.

I love that these cluster stamps work perfect of slim line cards, especially to add large sentiments with!

For a Mermazing Friend!

I have a fun underwater scene for you today using some of my favorites from Craftin Desert Divas!

The favorite CDD products I used are:

For my slim line card base I trim thick white cardstock to 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 and they fit into the 9A envelope size that you can get at your local craft store or online.

I started with the sky by trimming watercolor paper to fit the front of my card base and inked the top with the burst stencil using milled lavender and dried marigold oxide inks.  Next layer I die cut the two stitched waves and inked the with salty ocean, broken china, and tumbled glass and splattered with white using a small wet paint brush.

I then die cut the hello hill, stamped the sentiment in white and kept the die on while I inked with antique linen and tea dye.  The bottom sand I die cut out and inked with tea dye and gathered twigs.  On each layer I splattered with brown and white using the small wet paint brush.

0605-Candice-creative inspiration cute critters theme

I used some fun CDD product to create this slim line:

To create my slim line I trimmed thick white cardstock to 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base.  With the left over piece I trimmed to fit smaller than the base, heat embossed the sentiment & music notes with white, and inked with carved pumpkin and dried marigold.  I then die cut the scalloped strip and adhered to the bottom of the inked piece.

Next, I stamped the cuties from the March On stamp set, colored with copic markers, and then fussy cut out.  I added them to the front with pop dots and for the embellishments, I added sequins & nuvo drops.

All in all, this was a quick card with lots of impact, gotta love those!

You have all month to join us in the Creative Inspiration challenge for your chance to win!  You can enter as many times on IG and in the CDD Gallery on FB, remembering to add #creativeinspiration to your projects!  Have fun with the theme “cute critters” and you can see lots of them in the shop here.

Thank you, and I hope you are inspired today!

I began my card by trimming thick white cardstock a little smaller than the card base and die cut the octagon frame.  I then removed the inside frame and stamped the banana fronds all around the background and colored with copic markers.

I stamped the Jungle Friends & plants with memento black ink, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  Next, I trimmed some watercolor paper to go behind to frame, heat embossed the sentiment in black, and inked with shabby shutters & bundled sage.  I glued the fronds down and pop dotted the jungle critters around the circle.
