Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

It’s that time of year that I love, Christmas card time! This sketch challenge I love because of the angle and the colors are non traditional christmas colors.  Fun to create with!

mft sketch challenge 405 & color challenge 102

I used lots of MFT products to create this fun christmas card:

This was a simple card to create and came together quickly.  I die cut the wonky frame and stitched HO’s using 110lb white cardstock.  I glued the HO’s down and added the whole frame to the center of the card base.  Next, I die cut watercolor paper from the stitched rectangle, inked with twisted citron oxide ink, trimmed edges, stamped the sentiment and pop dotted over the card.  I then die cut the stitched circle, inked, and stamped the sentiment.

I die cut the glitter banner, adhered the HO3 to the end and added to the card.  Next, I stamped the santa and presents, colored with copics and cut out.  I glued the presents down and pop dotted santa.

Thanks for stopping by,

SSS Wednesday Challenge – Distress It

I always love to take the challenge of combining the sketch and color challenges together since it really causes me to think outside of what I tend to always create.  This one was trickier because the the only real color was the orange red.  I love the results of a simple card highlighted by the colored background!

To create my card I used:

This was a quick card, I simply added a large strip of black cardstock with the brick inked die cut rectangle over it in the center of the card.  I stamped, colored and die cut the cat images and pop dotted on a grey circle with the foil stitched frame around it.  Next, I heat embossed the sentiment in black and stamped one paw print next to it.  For my embellishments, I added large wooden dots to add more dimension.

Inside, I added a smaller brick inked rectangle with the sentiment heat embossed in black.  I added on stamped paw print and the kitty on top.

MFT Color Challenge #97

I was the lucky winner a few challenges ago for the MFT sketch challenge and hadn’t had the chance to use my new stamp set, Beach Buds.  When I saw the colors and the new sketch I new I could use that adorable crab!

For this card I used lots of great MFT products:

This was a quick card to put together, which is such great sketch to use! I die cut the white 110lb cardstock and then inked with tattered rose and parchment inks.  I then die cut the stitched sun and inked with buttercup and vanilla inks and pop dotted.  Next, I stamped the images, colored with copics and adhered to the card.  I trimmed a strip of white cardstock, heat embossed the sentiment in white, and then inked with abandoned coral and pop dotted in the center.  For the embellishment I added the yellow nuvo drops.

Inside, I die cut a smaller stitched rectangle, inked with tattered rose and parchment inks, and stamped the sentiment with abandoned coral.  I then stamped the clam and colored with copic markers.

I had gotten the Fireworks stamp set but didn’t get a chance to use it yet and when I saw this sketch and colors it all came together! MFT sketch 392 & color 96

To make this festive birthday card I used:

To start my card I trimmed thick 110lb black and white cardstock and die cut with the rectangle stitched die.  I then stamped the first layer of fireworks with the TH oxide inks.  Next, I stamped over with versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  The smaller fireworks I used some really old pink glitter embossing powder.  I took the top white fireworks paper and die cut the bottom with the basic edge die.

I then stamped the sentiment on thick white cardstock, heat embossed in black, and then inked with picked raspberries TH oxide ink.  The fiesta I die cut 4 times and inked the top one with salty ocean and peacock feathers TH oxide inks and glue the layers together.  I pop dotted the whole piece with fireworks and black cardstock and glued the sentiment and fiesta strip near the bottom.

Inside, I die cut a stitched rectangle, and stamp the sentiment and fireworks.

This was my first time making a card like this, the sentiment as my main focus with a background pattern that I created.  Love the result and how it showcases the colors as the focal point.  Will be making more of these!  Hope this inspires you to try one too!

SSS Wednesday Challenge-Anything Goes

One of my favorite things to use when creating my cards are the frame dies, and MFT really has so many amazing ones to use!

mft sketch challenge 391

This really is one of my all time favorite cards I have made, the bright colors and detailed background were so fun to make!

To create this card I did use lots of MFT products:

To make my card, I first inked watercolor paper with oxide inks: peeled paint, bundled sage, evergreen bough, peacock feathers, and broken china with the stencil in the top right corner.  Then I inked the lines to fade after removing the stencil.  Next, I die cut the inked paper and thick white cardstock with the MFT stitched collage die.  I layered the inked squares in the white frame and centered on my cardbase.

Next, I stamped all my images using Memento black ink, colored with lots of copic markers, and then fussy cut since I haven’t bought the dies yet (definately will invest in those for time saving!).  I heat embossed the sentiment with white and then added the images, some of them with foam tape to give dimension.

Inside, I simply took the extra stitched rectangle from the white frame I had die cut earlier and inked with peacock feathers and broken china.  I then heat embossed the sentiment with white and added one extra fish I had colored.

I have officially jumped on the underwater bandwagon and will be creating sooo many more cards with this stamp set!

I had sooo much fun with this sketch challenge and creating this card!  Who doesn’t love fun chicks?!

To create this fun shaker card I used a variety of MFT dies and stamp set.  I heat embossed the sentiments in white and colored the stamped images with copic markers.  For this card I used:

The pattern paper comes from the Doodle Bug Down on the Farm paper pack.

Inside, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink on the die cut pattern paper.

I love making fun, bright, and cards that I can shake, especially ones with farm animals!

MFT Sketch Challenge # 389

This is such an awesome simple sketch that I really enjoyed using!  I challenged myself with using it in combo with the color challenge, which already had two neutrals included.  I love the results of this card!

Mft sketch challenge & color challenge 389 & 95

Again, I used lots of different MFT products:

To create this card I die cut the stitched rectangle from kraft cardstock.  I trimmed a smaller rectangle from white cardstock and used a sunray stencil to ink with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks.  Next, I die cut four friend pieces, inked the bottom of one, and then layered them to make a thick sentiment.  The stamp I colored with copic markers and pop dotted for dimension.  I die cut the clouds in different sizes and added to the card.  My sentiment I heat embossed on grain pattern paper.

Inside, I die cut another stitched rectangle from kraft cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment in white.  I added a few more stitched clouds and a gnome I colored in copic markers.

I love the bright sun in contrast to the blue and white in the card.  Simple, but great!

Thanks,
