Seasun of Fun!

I am soooo in love with these adorable little beach piggies from the new release at Paperie Ink!  This cute set is called Seasun of Fun and is available today for pre-order!

May_Candice 1 Seasun of Fun

I used three of the Paperie Ink stamp sets to create my card, the new Seasun of Fun, the chicks are from the My Somebunny set and the beach ball is from another new set, Don’t Worry Be Happy.

I began my card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which fits perfectly into your standard size envelopes.

May_Candice 3 Seasun of Fun

For the background, I first taped off the bottom and inked my sky with squeezed lemonade, spun sugar & worn lipstick oxide inks.  I then switched and taped off the sky covering with scrap paper and inked the sand with tea dye & antique linen.  I then splattered with a damp paint brush and shimmer sprays in browns and white.

While I let that dry, I die cut the wave from Bristol Smooth cardstock and inked with salty ocean.

May_Candice 2 Seasun of Fun

Next, I stamped all the images from the Seasun of FunDon’t Worry Be Happy and My Somebunny stamp sets, colored them with copic markers and used my scan n’ cut to cut them out.  I added some accents with a white gel pen.

To put the card together, I stamped the sun and sentiment from the Seasun of Fun set in Versafine black ink and used foam tape on the colored sun over the stamped one.  I alternated some images with foam tape and glued down others and added the wave across the bottom with foam tape too.

Thank you for visiting with me today and I hope you love this new release as much as I do!

A Savanna Greetings

Hello crafty friends, Candice with you today!  I am really loving how the new release has many complimentary stamp sets that can be combined together!  Scene building is definitely my go to style and I love how the Radiant Plumeria stamps can be combined with other sets to create a perfect backdrop!

Candice-0508-Radiant Plumeria

To create my Savanna scene, I used all new products:

I began my card with an 8 1/2 X 3 1/2 card base which will fit nicely into your standard size envelopes.

For my background, I first taped off just above the bottom and inked with old paper & antique linen for the dirt ground.  I then moved the tape down and using the negative from a die cut semi circle to create my sun with squeezed lemonade.  I covered the sun with the die cut semi circle and inked the rest of the sky with mustard seed, wild honey, spiced marmalade & ripe persimmon.  To finish the background, I stamped the silhouettes of the tree and the fronds in versafine black ink.

Candice-0508-Radiant Plumeria side

Next, I stamped the giraffe, elephant, lion, zebra, toucan, and vines, colored them with copic markers and then used the coordinating dies listed above to cut them out.  For the layers of the fronds, I used crushed olive, peeled paint and forest moss.

To put the card all together, I used foam tape on the vines and then added the animals with glue and foam tape.  I also did this with the fronds to frame the scene and trimmed the edges with scissors.  I finished with the perfect bold font from the Radiant Plumeria stamp set!

Thank you so very much for stopping by!

Rainbow Happiness!

Lately Christine, the owner of Create a Smile stamps, has been sharing some beautiful techniques with rainbows and she inspired me to create a rainbow card of my own!

0507-rainbow don't worry

For my card, I used these awesome Create a Smile products:

I began the card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base that is just the right size for your standard envelopes.

0507-rainbow don't worry close up

For the background, I worked in sections with my Cloud stencil on Bistrol Smooth using candied apple, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch & wilted violet oxide inks for the rainbow palette.

I set that aside to dry before stamping and worked on coloring the rainbows.  I stamped the rainbow and clouds, colored with copic markers and fussy cut them out.

0507-rainbow don't worry side

Next, I stamped the large Don’t Worry in black versafine ink and heat embossed the be happy in white on a trimmed black banner.

To put the card together, I used foam tape on the banner and rainbows and glued the smaller clouds to the card front.  For a bit of shine, I added some dome pearls in the colors of the rainbow on some clouds.

I hope you are inspired by rainbow card and take some time to see the short videos Christine puts together on the Create a Smile IG page!

Thank you!

Don’t Worry. Be Happy!

The new release at Paperie Ink will be coming this Friday, May 9th!  And boy are you in for a treat of cuteness!  Today I am giving you a sneak peek of the new stamp set, Hello Sunshine!

May_Candice 1 Hello Sunshine

I began my card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which is a perfect size for your standard envelopes.

For these cute critters on the floaties, I saw them on one of my favorite water rides, the lazy river!

May_Candice 3 Hello Sunshine

For the background, I first inked a panel of Bistrol Smooth with blueprint sketch, peacock feathers & cracked pistachio.  I then spritzed with some water and dabbed off with a paper towel and adhered directly to the card base.  I die cut the thick white cardstock with a stitched wave, stamping the sentiment from another new set, Don’t Worry Be Happy.

May_Candice 2 Hello Sunshine

Next, I stamped the cuties and flowers, colored them with copic markers and used my scan n’ cut to cut them out.  I accented them with a white gel pen and adhered them with foam tape.

To finish off the card, I added some clear nuvo drops as water drops.

I know Friday is so far away, but just keep watching for more inspiration until you can get your own sets from this fabulous release!

Hello Friend

Candice with you today and it is the exciting time of a whole new release over at Sunny Studio Stamps and I am kicking it off with the new layered stamp set, Potted Rose!

Candice-0501-potted rose

I used a few new release products for my card:

I began the card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base perfect for your standard size envelopes.

Candice-0501-potted rose close up

For the background, I first die cut the three stitched arches and then inked the inside pieces with broken china and tumbled glass.  I created my own stencil by die cutting a piece of thick cardstock from the new herringbone die.  I taped off and worked in sections inking with tea dye and antique linen to give it a Tuscan feel.

Candice-0501-potted rose side

Next, I stamped the layered roses in rainbow colors using oxide inks and 4 of the 6 layers and then die cut out using the coordinating dies.  Then I stamped the pots using the 3 layers in some Close to My Heart inks and used the coordinating dies to cut out and trimmed the bottoms.

To add the roses to the pots, I simply used my paper trimmer and cut slits in the dirt and tucked the roses in.  I used foam tape to pop them in the windows.  I do love the effect it gives!  To finish, I stamped the hello in versafine black and fussy cut out and then stamped the friend on Kraft cardstock and trimmed into a banner.  I also adhered this with foam tape and added some Rainbow Pearls for a bit of shine.

Treat Yourself!

Okay ,okay, I know I have shocked everyone by creating a regular sized card! Sometimes I even need a change! I loved this size to fit my stencil and sentiment on using the awesome Create a Smile stamps!

0430-treat yourself

I used these Create a Smile products for my card:

0430-treat yourself close up

For the background, I first die cut the scalloped frame from Bristol Smooth cardstock, inked the top half with milled lavender and taped the circle stencil over the frame.  I used my small blender brush and filled in different circles with seedless preserves and dusty concord and then went over the whole stencil with milled lavender using my large blender brush.  This picked up some of the darker colors on my stencil and made the larger circles just a shade darker with awesome results!

I wanted a bit more color behind the frame and trimmed some more Bristol Smooth a little larger than the frame and inked the top half with the 3 ink colors; seedless preserves, dusty concord and milled lavender.

0430-treat yourself side

Next, I stamped the hippo and treats, colored them with copic markers and fussy cut out.  I then die cut the TREAT and lined up with the hippo, gluing the letters down and using foam tape on the images.

To finish the card, I heat embossed the sentiments in white on trimmed black banners and used foam tape to pop them up.  For a few embellishments, I went with some pink clear domes, white domes and sequins to keep the circle form flowing.

Guest Designer for Coffee Loving Cardmakers

Hello fellow crafters, it’s Candice with you today!  I was thrilled when Amy asked if I would like to GD for you this month for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers and I jumped at the chance.  I love being able to create using all different companies to make a fun card, like this summer coffee one!

I used these companies products for my card:

I began my card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which fits perfectly into your standard size envelopes.

For the background, I first die cut the scalloped frame, taped off the edges and inked the sky with salty ocean & tumbled glass.  I then die cut 2 stitched clouds directly from the inked sky and 2 more from white cardstock to fill in the space.  I die cut multiple rows of grass, inked each one with twisted citron & shabby shutters and set aside to assemble later.

Next, I stamped all the images listed above, along with the sentiments on the market stand, colored them all with copic markers and then either used coordinating dies or my scan n’ cut to cut them all out.

0429-Candice GD Coffee Loving Cardmakers side

To put my card together, I glued the scalloped background down and the white clouds onto the card base.  I also used glue for the market stand and first row of grass.  For a bit of dimension, I added the next three rows of grass with foam tape and most of the images.  To finish it up, I added one more sentiment on a trimmed white banner.

I thank you for visiting with me today and I hope this bright card brought some inspiration for you to create with all of your different stamp sets and add some fun coffee theme into it!

Hugs,

Candice

You’re Awesome, Fur Real!

Some of my favorite stamp combos are the jungle ferns with cute wild animals, like these sets from Create a Smile stamps!

0423-fur real

I combined these Create a Smile stamps products to make my card:

I began my card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which fits just right in your standard size envelopes.

0423-fur real close up

For the background, I first taped down the Diamonds stencil and inked with rusty hinge, spiced marmalade, fossilized amber and scattered straw.  I did have to do half and then realign and finish the bottom.

To create the frames, I die cut two frames and centers from Bristol Smooth cardstock and inked the center pieces with peeled paint, crushed olive and shabby shutters.  I then die cut four more frames from thick white cardstock and layered to make a dimensional frame.

0423-fur real side

Next, I stamped the lions, birds, rock and leaves, colored them with copic markers and used my scan n’ cut to quickly cut them out.  Before adhering them to the center pieces, I stamped the silhouetted ferns and then layered the leaves gluing some and using foam tape for others and then trimmed the tips off with scissors.  I put them into the center of the white frames and used foam tape to add the lion and birds.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment in versafine black and added an orange sequin with orange nuvo drops.

These new stamps have that whimsical feel that works so well with pattern papers!

For the background, I first die cut the stitched panel  from grey grid pattern paper and then I die cut the scalloped panel from mint cardstock and heat embossed in white with the Polka Dot background stamp.

Next, I stamped the elephant & monkey and the monkey with umbrella, colored them with copic markers and fussy cut out.  I adhered them with foam tape.

For the heart balloons, I die cut three from the same mint cardstock as the background and heat embossed the sentiments on two of them in white.  The third one I added a smaller heart die cut from chevron pattern paper and added some twine to the elephant.

To finish the card, I added some clear mint and white domes to bring a little shine to the card.
