Super Stars for the New Year!

This week at Craftin Desert Divas we are kicking off a new year with an anything goes challenge!  I’m sharing a card I created with my all time favorite stamp set, Mighty Trolls!  My hubbies favorite hero is Captain America, so I can never have to many of these cards in my house!

The CDD products I used to create this card are:

This was a quick shaker, always the best kind, to make!  I started by trimming thick white cardstock and die cutting the three stitched squares closer to the top.  I then taped down the burst stencil and inked with faded jean oxide ink and stamped the sentiment with versafine.  I added a strip of acetate behind the windows and set aside.

For inside the shaker, I trimmed some watercolor paper to fit behind the squares and inked with candied apple and fired brick oxide inks.  Next, I taped down my star galaxy stencil and covered with silver mousse.  Once dry, I added strips of foam tape around the acetate on each window and filled with freedom sequins and adhered card base over.

I stamped Captain America and his shield from the Mighty Trolls stamp set, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  I pop dotted them over the acetate and added some star sequins with glue dots.

Thank you for stopping by, and if you love the Mighty Trolls as much as I do, you probably will love the Troll Wars (star wars) & Troll Wizards (Harry Potter)!

Any and All Things Glittery!

This week at Craftin Desert Divas the DT has been sharing projects with all that glitters, a challenge right up my alley!  I haven’t created a baby card in a while and loved this new stamp set, Magic Trolls, to use for it.

The awesome CDD product I used:

To begin my card, I trimmed some peach shimmer cardstock and flicked white and pink paint to splatter the background.  After that had dried I taped down my stencil using the smallest circle and spread gold mousse with a palette.  I repeated this three more times making four small sections on the card.

While that dried, I stamped the images from Magic Trolls with memento black ink, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  I pop dotted these on each section I had created the gold circles and added wink of stella over parts of the images to give some extra shine!  I stamped the sentiment with versafine and layered the die cut hoorays with a white glitter paper on top.  Using the same white glitter paper, I die cut the hearts and glued in the center of the images.  For my embellishments, and a bit more sparkle, I added sequins.

I hope you take some time and visit Craftin Desert Divas IG & Craftin Desert Divas Gallery on FB to see the projects created this week with all that glitters!

Wanna Build a Snowman?

I’m sharing my last card of this amazing December release at Craftin Desert Divas.  I have to admit, this has been a Disney heavy release for me, could it be because I went on a Disney cruise last week?! Probably!!!  When I saw this princess, I thought she looked just like Anna from Frozen and so this is what I came up with…

CDD December release card 2 final

I used all Craftin Desert Divas product to create this cute scene:

This card looks like a lot of work, but was actually pretty quick due to the fact it is mostly die cutting.  I started by resizes Twiggs and printing him off of the computer.  I colored him and Anna with copic markers and then fussy cut them out.

I did a lot of die cutting, the tree and snow hill from watercolor paper, the mountains from white foil paper, and the snow caps and snowflake frame with white glitter paper.  I then inked the tree with antique linen ink and the snow hill with shaded lilac ink.  The sky I created with the burst stencil and lilac ink.

To assemble, I glued the mountains down with the snow caps, then the snow hill and the tree with twiggs tucked in the bottom.  I pop dotted the snowflake frame around my scene and pop dotted Anna in the corner.  I glued this all down into the center of my card base.  For the sentiment, I printed it off on my computer and die cut with the stitched banner and pop dotted this too.

For the shimmer in the trees I used glued dots and added lines of sequins.

Love this little scene from Frozen when Anna meets Olaf!

Mighty Trolls!

Our house has always been a superhero house, and I was soooo excited to get my hands on this Mighty Trolls stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas!

CDD December release card 3 final

I made a fun shaker with Iron Man for this card using Craftin Desert Divas product:

This was a quick shaker card with a lot of WOW factors!  I started by trimming watercolor paper and inking with the burst stencil and oxide inks.  I then stamped the sentiment and heat embossed in black near the bottom.  I adhered this to the card base closer to the bottom left corner.  I then stamped and colored Iron Man with copic markers.

To make the shaker, I ran double sided adhesive foam sheets with the octagon die through my die cutting machine.  I then ran the same die through with red foil paper and glued to acetate and trimmed around the outer edge.  I adhered the foam octagon die around the center of the star burst and added the sequins.  Next I adhered the acetate over it and pop dotted Iron Man.  For the embellishment I added a few drops of gold nuvo drops around the sentiment.

Dragon Tales

For day 2 of Craftin Desert Divas we are giving you sneak peek at the Dragon Tales stamp set!  These guys were just too cute that I had to use all of them onto one card!

CDD December release card 4 close up final

To create this layered fold up card I used lots of CDD amazing product:

So I took on a little bit with this card in my want of using all these cuties!  To create the base I trimmed a card to 5 1/2 x 11 to make it an even square and scored down the middle.  I trimmed some  watercolor paper and inked with the cloud stencil and broken china and adhered to the back of the inside of the card.  Next, I die cut the trees, houses, and hills in varying lengths and inked with the peeled paint, bundled sage, and gathered twigs.  On the bottom of each of these layers I scored 1/2″ to adhere to the card base.  I then dipped my paint brush in white paint and water and splattered the hills.

Now the assembly, I trimmed some scrap thick cardstock to 3 x 1 1/2 and scored at 1/2″ twice and folded to make a spacer to go in between the layers.  I first glued the trees and the spacer behind, then the houses, and the hills.  On the hills, I used pop dots to just add a little depth.

For the adorable characters, I stamped and colored with copic markers.  I added them with either glue or pop dots to add even more depth.  For the bottom I die cut the stitched scalloped frame and stamped the two sentiments from the new All Together Sentiments set.  This font is perfect for fairy tales!  Next, I added the cute sleeping dragon and let this dry before attempting to close!  (Lesson learned!)
