Create a Smile Challenge-Circles

Create a Smile stamps is having a new and fun challenge using the theme Circles!  I knew exactly what I wanted to use for my circles, the ever adorable and popular Gull Gang stamp set!

It ended up taking off from there on adding more circles with the bubbles from the Easy Breezy stamp set and then adding even more circles with the quote bubbles with the sentiments from the Small Sentiments stamp set!

I started my slim line card by trimming thick white cardstock to 8 1/2 x 3 1/2, the perfect size for an 9A envelope!  Next, I trimmed some watercolor paper a little smaller than the card front, stamped the bubbles with versamark and heat embossed with white and then die cut into waves.  I then inked each section with chipped sapphire, blueprint sketch, and stormy sky to give movement to the waves.

I stamped the sea gulls and wood, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  I then pop dotted a few and glued the others to give depth to the card.  Next, I cut the quote bubbles using my cameo silhouette, but Create a Smile has a set of speech bubble dies that work perfect for the small sentiments I used.  I pop dotted both the speech bubbles and stamped the larger sentiment on a stitched banner, trimmed the end and pop dotted in the middle.

For my embellishments, I added some small clear nuvo drops to the wood next to each sea gull and a few on the banner next to the sentiment.

Create a Smile Challenge-Crafty Friends

The current Create a Smile Challenge is to create about our crafty friends.  I know the most I get from the crafty friends I have on made on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest has been inspiration.  That is what I was thinking of when I created this card, the inspiration and ideas from all of you!

Create a smile challenge crafty friends

This is a simple CAS card using three of Create a Smile stamps:

To create this card, I stamped thick white cardstock with the polka dot background and die cut it twice, once with the outside frame and once with the window frame.

I stamped the tulip, butterfly, and the bunny, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  I then trimmed some watercolor paper to fit behind the window and inked with wild honey and rusty hinge oxide inks to get the bright orange hue.  Next, I stamped the sentiment with versafine black ink below the window frame.

To put it all together, I glue dotted the stem of the flower down, pop dotted the inked orange behind and then pop dotted the whole piece to the center of the card base.  Then I pop dotted the bunny and butterfly to the card.  For my embellishments, I added some white dots to the flower and butterfly using a white pen and added a few purple sequins.

Create a Smile Challenge -Celebration

I love, did I say I LOVE, Create a Smile stamps and got lots for Christmas, so I had to dive right into their current challenge, Celebration, using these cute koalas from the cart full of treasure stamps set.

I wanted to use all the stamps, but alas, I could only use most of them and settled on doing a double slider card.

The products I used to create this double slider card are:

This card did take some time, but after the holidays of making quick Christmas cards, I wanted to sit and take time on a fun creation!  I started with 110 lb white cardstock as my base and die cut polka dot paper with the scalloped die.  I followed the instructions to create the double slider, you can find them here.  I had stamped the cuties and colored with copic markers and then fussy cut out.  I added the grass in green glitter and the hooray is in pink foil.

Create A Smile Challenge-Winter Time

Create a Smiles current challenge is a winter time theme and I was sooo happy to finally use these cuties!  I mean, really, who doesn’t love snowmen on a ferris wheel?!  This is also doubling as my bestie’s Christmas card this year, she saw this stamp set and really oohhhed and aawwed over it!

To begin my card I had to decide on my colors and I knew I wanted to use deep blues and I paired it with dark pinks and purples.  I trimmed thick white cardstock and stamped with a falling snow stamp and heat embossed with white.  I added some blueprint sketch oxide ink to the top and adhered to the card base.

Next, I stamped the ferris wheel and snowflake from the A Friendly Turn stamp set, colored with copic markers and fussy cut out.  I added some glitter to the snowmen and glossy accents to the hearts and snowflake for a bit of shine.

I then die cut the stitched hill and stamped the adorable sentiment with the glittery friend above it.  I adhered this to the bottom of the card with pop dots.  For the embellishments, I pop dotted the colored snowflake and added clear drops around the sentiment.

Create a Smile Challenge-Create Your Own Background

If you haven’t seen the absolutely adorable stamp sets from Create A Smile take time to check out their cuties!  You will love them!  They even have digital freebies that you can use to enter into their bi-weekly challenges which is what I used today to create this card.

Create a smile challenge create your own background

The current challenge is to create your own background and I did that using the freebie sentiment of Happy New Year which I repeated and printed out along with the celebration drink.  I printed them out on x-press it paper so I could color the repeated YEAR with copic markers: B60, B63, B66, & B69.  Love these colors, they are just the perfect bluish purple shade!

After coloring, I then die cut it using a stitched rectangle and pop dotted on a trimmed piece of silver glitter paper.  I have to add glitter and shine where ever I can and New Years always has to have sparkle!  Yeah!  Next, I colored the celebration drink with the blue copics and added dark pinks with RV63, RV66, & RV69 on the passion fruit.  I added a bit of cool greys with C0 & C1 to the ice cubes and lots of wink of stella for the liquid.

I fussy cut out the drink and glued it onto a smaller stitched rectangle vellum and adhered to the center of the card.  For the final embellishments, I wanted to add a bit more of the dark pink and used some enamel accents to give a little pop.

Now it’s your turn to enter the current Create a Smile challenge!

Thanks,

Candice
