MFT Sketch Challenge #392 & Color Challenge #96

MFT Sketch Challenge #392

MFT Color Challenge #96

I had gotten the Fireworks stamp set but didn’t get a chance to use it yet and when I saw this sketch and colors it all came together! MFT sketch 392 & color 96

To make this festive birthday card I used:

To start my card I trimmed thick 110lb black and white cardstock and die cut with the rectangle stitched die.  I then stamped the first layer of fireworks with the TH oxide inks.  Next, I stamped over with versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  The smaller fireworks I used some really old pink glitter embossing powder.  I took the top white fireworks paper and die cut the bottom with the basic edge die.

I then stamped the sentiment on thick white cardstock, heat embossed in black, and then inked with picked raspberries TH oxide ink.  The fiesta I die cut 4 times and inked the top one with salty ocean and peacock feathers TH oxide inks and glue the layers together.  I pop dotted the whole piece with fireworks and black cardstock and glued the sentiment and fiesta strip near the bottom.

Inside, I die cut a stitched rectangle, and stamp the sentiment and fireworks.

This was my first time making a card like this, the sentiment as my main focus with a background pattern that I created.  Love the result and how it showcases the colors as the focal point.  Will be making more of these!  Hope this inspires you to try one too!

Inky Paws Challenge #75-Cute Animals

Inky Paws Challenge #75- Cute Animals

I almost didn’t enter this challenge because I don’t have (yet!) any of the adorable Newton stamp sets, but I decided this frog definately counts as cute!

I had purchased this paper a few months back and knew I wanted to use it with the Newton’s Nook Design stamp sets: Knight’s Quest and Once Upon a Princess.  That saying is perfect for the pattern paper of crowns!

I decided to color the images bolder than the paper to help them stand out and popped them out of stitched circles.  The pattern paper is die cut from a stitched rectangle and pop dotted in the center of the card base.  I die cut the other side of the crown pattern paper from a cloud die and glued behind the castle.  The banner I stamped with the sentiment and heat embossed with black.  For my embellishments, I added some bright enamel dots in varying sizes.

Inside, I stamped my sentiment on white cardstock and trimmed to fit the scallop frame.  I die cut a second cloud from the pattern paper and added a colored tree.

I love how the images really pop against the paper and the non traditional colors of the castle, makes it very girly!

One of my favorite things to use when creating my cards are the frame dies, and MFT really has so many amazing ones to use!

mft sketch challenge 391

This really is one of my all time favorite cards I have made, the bright colors and detailed background were so fun to make!

To create this card I did use lots of MFT products:

To make my card, I first inked watercolor paper with oxide inks: peeled paint, bundled sage, evergreen bough, peacock feathers, and broken china with the stencil in the top right corner.  Then I inked the lines to fade after removing the stencil.  Next, I die cut the inked paper and thick white cardstock with the MFT stitched collage die.  I layered the inked squares in the white frame and centered on my cardbase.

Next, I stamped all my images using Memento black ink, colored with lots of copic markers, and then fussy cut since I haven’t bought the dies yet (definately will invest in those for time saving!).  I heat embossed the sentiment with white and then added the images, some of them with foam tape to give dimension.

Inside, I simply took the extra stitched rectangle from the white frame I had die cut earlier and inked with peacock feathers and broken china.  I then heat embossed the sentiment with white and added one extra fish I had colored.

I have officially jumped on the underwater bandwagon and will be creating sooo many more cards with this stamp set!

AAA Card Challenge #118-Use a Frame

My friend is having her wedding reception this weekend and I needed to make a simple card with gray and whites to go with her wedding gift.  I LOVE, I mean really LOVE, this new stamp set from Simon Says Stamps, Beautiful Flowers stamp set.

AAA cards challenge #118

This was a pretty quick card.  I simply heat embossed the images and sentiments in silver.  I cut two of the images out and colored with copic markers: BG000 & G20.  I then die cut the frame, used foam tape on the frame and the two colored images, and added grey nuvo drops for my sparkle.

The products I used are:

Inside, I heat embossed the image and sentiment in silver and then die cut using the Craftin Desert Divas Inside Scallop Frame dies.

A simple, but perfect and elegant wedding card for my friend!

Your Next Stamp Color Challenge #92

These colors are fabulous and I found the perfect plaid pattern paper to use for this card with all the colors in it!

YNS color challenge

This card was one of my quicker ones, which doesn’t happen to often, and loved that it looks like I spent lots of time on it!  I used lots of different dies, but kept the focus on the stamp and sentiment from YNS.  I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and colored the stamped images with copic markers.  For added sparkle I added a rain fall of sequins.

I used:

Inside, I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and added a cute stamped sentiment I colored with copic markers and added shimmer to the umbrella using the stardust pen.

I absolutely adore pastel cards, and when I make one it brightens my day!  This card came together so well and I hope it brightens your day! Thanks!

I had sooo much fun with this sketch challenge and creating this card!  Who doesn’t love fun chicks?!

To create this fun shaker card I used a variety of MFT dies and stamp set.  I heat embossed the sentiments in white and colored the stamped images with copic markers.  For this card I used:

The pattern paper comes from the Doodle Bug Down on the Farm paper pack.

Inside, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink on the die cut pattern paper.

I love making fun, bright, and cards that I can shake, especially ones with farm animals!

Inky Paws Color Challenge #74

Really loved the softness of these colors and new I wanted to portray that in my card.

To create this sweet card, I die cut two stitched rectangles and I softly inked the smaller one with light greens and blues.  I used the princess from Newton’s Nook Design Once Upon a Princess stamp set and colored with copic markers.  Next, I die cut a stitched banner, heat embossed the sentiment in white, and then inked with blue and pop dotted.  I then die cut the stitched cloud and added some blue sequins above.

Inside, I die cut another stitched rectangle, heat embossed my sentiment in white, and then inked with the green and blues.  I added a stamped princess that I colored with copic markers.  In the top corner I added a stitched cloud.

Cinderella is and always will be my favorite Princess and I love how this card reminds me of that!
