SSS Wednesday Challenge – Distress It

I always love to take the challenge of combining the sketch and color challenges together since it really causes me to think outside of what I tend to always create.  This one was trickier because the the only real color was the orange red.  I love the results of a simple card highlighted by the colored background!

To create my card I used:

This was a quick card, I simply added a large strip of black cardstock with the brick inked die cut rectangle over it in the center of the card.  I stamped, colored and die cut the cat images and pop dotted on a grey circle with the foil stitched frame around it.  Next, I heat embossed the sentiment in black and stamped one paw print next to it.  For my embellishments, I added large wooden dots to add more dimension.

Inside, I added a smaller brick inked rectangle with the sentiment heat embossed in black.  I added on stamped paw print and the kitty on top.

SSS Wednesday Challenge- Fun in the Sun

I happen to have been the lucky winner of YNS Challenge a month ago! Yeah! So I had to play with my winning stamp sets, Keepin’ It Reel! & Mini Mermaid.

YNS challenge 93

I started this card by die cutting two stitched rectangles to create my frame.  I heat embossed the sentiment in black.  Next, I trimmed watercolor paper to fit behind the frames and die cut the top with a wave die.  I inked the watercolor paper with Tim Holtz inks: wilted violetblueprint sketch, & salty ocean for the underwater & broken chinapeacock feathers for the wave & squeezed lemonadefossilized amber, & wild honey for the sky.

I die cut the stitched sunshine and inked with the same colors as the sky.  Next, I die cut the coral and sand from alcohol marker paper and colored with copic markers.  I put it all together and pop dotted the frame above the two scenes and added the sun to the corner and trimmed the edges.

I stamped the mermaid from the YNS mini mermaid stamp set, and the fishes from the Keepin’ It Reel stamp set.  I colored them with copic markers and fussy cut them out.  I then pop dotted the fish and and the mermaid on the card.  For the embellishments, I added Nuvo Jewel blue drops above the fishes.

Inside, I stamped the octopus from the Keepin’ It Reel stamp set, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut him out.  I stamped the sentiment from Craftin Desert Diva Ocean Friends stamp set and heat embossed in black on the stitched rectangle left from the frame made on the outside of the card.  Love when I can reuse leftover dies!

I am so in love with the mermaid and underwater theme!  These cards are so fun to create! Thanks!

SSS Wednesday Challenge-Bright & Cheerful

I had sooo much fun with this sketch challenge and creating this card!  Who doesn’t love fun chicks?!

To create this fun shaker card I used a variety of MFT dies and stamp set.  I heat embossed the sentiments in white and colored the stamped images with copic markers.  For this card I used:

The pattern paper comes from the Doodle Bug Down on the Farm paper pack.

Inside, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink on the die cut pattern paper.

I love making fun, bright, and cards that I can shake, especially ones with farm animals!

I needed to make a Father’s day card for my husband’s brother who loves to cook and of course I had to use MFT Recipe for happiness stamp and die set.

I created my card using lots of MFT stamps and dies:

I die cut all of the pieces out of thick 110lb white cardstock.  I inked the inside squares with TH oxide inks: wild honey, fossilized amber, abandoned coral, twisted citron, cracked pistachio, and peacock feathers.

The stamped images I colored with copic markers, stamped the sentiment with black versafine ink, and added copper stickles to the buttons.  I pop dotted a few of the images for dimension.

Love how the colors blend so well together with the white!

SSS Wednesday Challenge-Anything Goes

I just got my new release stamps and dies from Hello Bluebird Stamps and couldn’t wait to create with them!  I had to pick the cows first and love the way they fit on cards!

To create these cuties, I used the stitched collage die from MFT and the Hello Bluebird Stamps.  I die cut three different papers, the 110lb thick white cardstock, kraft paper, and the pattern paper from Authentique.  I mixed and matched the frames and stitched squares and heat embossed the sentiment on the rectangle in black.  I stamped, colored with copic markers, and die cut the cows and pop dotted them around the card.

Inside, I heat embossed the sentiments one from Farmyard Little Bits  and the other from Scripty Birthday  in black on a stitched banner from kraft paper.  I added one little jumping cow and a punched heart.

These are definately my type of cards, lots of stitching, geometric shapes, and adorable little stamps!  And I got my shine from the heat embossed sentiments! Yeah!

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge-Anything Goes

For this fun and colorful card I used my first ever digital stamp from Believe in Magic from Craftin Desert Divas!  It was sooo easy to do, I was able to make the stamp the size that I wanted to fit on my card and that is awesome!  They even have a new Digi Stamp Club that you can join.

CDD unicorn card

To create this fun card, I printed off the stamp and sentiment from my computer.  I inked the background with Tim Holtz Oxide Inks, in tattered rose, worn lipstick,  and picked raspberry and sprayed with water on Tim Holtz watercolor paper.  I trimmed the sentiment, inked the edges with tattered rose and worn lipstick and colored the stars in with glitter pen.

I cut the cloud out from my cameo silhouette and added to the bottom of the inked paper.  Next I die cut the stitched scallop frame and the stitched rainbow.  On the stitched rainbow I added Tim Holtz Oxide Inks in rainbow colors on half of the rainbow strips.  I then sprayed them with shimmer.  I put the frame around the inked paper and pop dotted the whole piece in the center of my card.  I colored the digi stamp with copic markers and pop dotted over the cloud.  For my embellishments I added different sizes and colors of sequins and some enamel accents in white.

Inside, I added a pink stitched scallop frame over white cardstock and put another printed unicorn from the Believe in Magic digital stamp set that I colored with copic markers and fuzzy cut.

I am so happy and excited that I found digital stamps.  I love that I can make them the size that I want, gives me more options when I am creating my cards.  I can create the same as I have been but it is less expensive and allows me to get more!  And who doesn’t love more, especially more stamps!

SSS Wednesday Challenge – Use more than one stamp

I had cross stitched these slices of watermelon in anticipation of getting this One In A Melon stamp set from Your Next Stamp.

The set of little hamsters just go perfect above the slices!  I added the cute sentiment that I heat embossed with white.  The dies I used are from MFT:

I colored all the images with copic markers.

Inside, I heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock with white and added a red velvet heart on the colored watermelon.  I framed it all with a stitched scallop edge.

There really is just something about the color combo of watermelon with black and white that I love!
