Paparazzi Peacocks!

Today I have my second card using the Technique Tuesday Stamps monthly Animal House collection!  This time the Pretty Peacocks are getting attacked by the Paparazzi!  Candice-Technique Tuesday-pretty peacock photo watermark

I began my card by creating an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base that fits just right in your standard size envelopes.

For the background, i first die cut the stitched panel, repeatedly stamped the hello gorgeous and colored in an ombre with copic markers.

I then die cut some photo frames from pattern paper and trimmed some copic friendly paper to fit behind them.

Next, I stamped the peacocks off center, colored them with the same copics as the sentiment, and glued to the back of the photos.

To finish the card, I added the photos with foam tape at different angles and put a few black drops next to them.

I wanted this card to have a blend of colors and chose to do some water coloring!

For the background, I first die cut a scalloped striped panel from thick white cardstock and inked a trimmed piece with rainbow colors in: cracked pistachio, twisted citron, carved pumpkin, abandoned coral & spun sugar.

Next, I heat embossed the peacock and sentiment on a stitched banner, colored them with water colors and used the coordinating dies to cut out the peacock.  I adhered them to the card with foam tape for a little dimension.

I wanted to keep the embellishments simple to let the colors shine and added a few matching colored domes.

Technique Tuesday Valentine’s

Hello!  I am excited to be guest designing again for Technique Tuesday Stamps during their amazing 20% sale on love themed products now through Thursday 1/23!  You can use coupon code LOVE2020 at checkout.

Today I have 2 cards I created using just two of the many Valentine’s products they have, the Love is in the Air stamp setHeart Strings dies.

Candice-love is in the air

My first card showcases the Love is in the Air stamp set and is absolutely perfect for a box card!  I love box cards for their wow factor and love how easy they are to put together!

I began by using box dies that I have, but you can also use templates on the cameo or cricut.  On the bottom squares I used a cloud stencil with mustard seed oxide ink and then went lightly over it with squeezed lemonade.  I added some of the heart strings from pink velvet paper for a bit of pop along the bottom.

For the top sections, I first heat embossed the sentiment, hearts, and paper airplane in white and, using the same cloud stencil and colors, I inked over them.  I filled in the hearts with some pink copic markers.

Next, I stamped three hot air balloons, colored them copic markers and fussy cut out.

To put the items into the box card, I trimmed acetate to give them all a floating look.  I added a few more heart strings that I layered to give them stability along with a few stitched clouds.

For my second card, I am showcasing the Heart Strings dies on this bright slimline card!

I love the slimline size of 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 to allow me to add tons of the heart strings all down the card!

For the background, I first die cut a scalloped frame, heat embossed the sentiment in white, inked it with abandoned coral, dried marigold & squeezed lemonade oxide inks and then splattered with white, pink & yellow shimmer sprays with a damp paint brush.

While the background dried, I stamped the heart and present from the Love is in the Air stamp set, colored them with copic markers, fussy cut out and added a few white accents with a pen.

To finish the card, I die cut a bunch of the heart strings from gold and white glitter paper, letting the white centers fall out on some.  I then glued them down to the card and trimmed the sides with scissors.  I added a few of the heart centers with foam tape to tie it all together.

I hope you are inspired to create some fun love themed cards and remember to take advantage of the 20% off sale HERE.  Remember to use the coupon code LOVE2020 at checkout!

Thank You Sweet Friend

Hello!  Candice with you today and I am happy to be joining Technique Tuesday Stamps as they celebrate a Season of Thanks with a fabulous 20% off all stamps and dies in the thank you, grateful & Thanksgiving categories!

Candice-Technique Tuesday Chickadees

I used the adorable Chickadee 2.0 stamp set and coordinating dies to create this sweet rainbow slimline card!

I started with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which fits perfectly into the size 9A envelopes.

Candice-Technique Tuesday Chickadees first step

To create the background, I used the amazing misti to set up the larger thank you sentiment and repeatedly stamped using versafine for a crisp print.

I then backed this with a very thin border of black cardstock to help ground the words.

Candice-Technique Tuesday Chickadees second step

Next, I stamped the adorable chickadees (don’t you just love their long legs?!), colored with copic markers in a rainbow sequence, and then die cut using the coordinating dies.

I then trimmed the same black cardstock to create a banner and heat embossed the two sentiments in white.  I added them with pop dots around the center thank you.

Next, I pop dotted the rainbow chickadees along the bottom and for a little more color added a rainbow of nuvo drops.
