Speedy Recovery

I am sharing my final card with you as a Whimsy Stamps Design Team member and have enjoyed creating for this amazing company and you!  I used the fun new Get Well Dragon stamp set for this get well card!

1229-wishes for a speedy recovery

This was a quick and easy card and I made it with just the one stamp set, Get Well Dragons!

For the background, i first inked with fossilized amber and scattered straw oxide inks, leaving the corner white for the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment in versafine ink in the top corner.

1229-wishes for a speedy recovery close up

I then repeatedly stamped the bandaid at different angles, colored in the heart with a red copic marker and added white dots over the circles.

1229-wishes for a speedy recovery side

Next, I stamped the dragon and heart, colored with copic markers and fussy cut them out.  I pop dotted the dragon and the heart next to the sentiment.

I hope you have been inspired by my Whimsy creations and will still check out my creations on IG as Candicards!

Thank you so very much!

Rustic Christmas Tags

I loved the new dies in the December Whimsy Stamps release to create great silhouettes!

I used them to make some beautiful rustic Christmas tags!

1222-Rustic Christmas Tags

To create my tags, I used these Whimsy Stamps products:

I cut my tags using a pattern from my Cameo Silhouette.

1222-Rustic Christmas Tags close up

For the backgrounds, I heat embossed the Gingham pattern in white and inked over it with bundled sage & forest moss oxide inks.

I then pulled out my die cutting machine to cut out the scenes!  The birch trees I cut from thick white cardstock and the deer from dark brown velvet paper.  I used gold glitter paper for the snowhill scenes and stars.

1222-Rustic Christmas Tags side

To complete the tags, I die cut three banners, heat embossed the sentiment in white, and inked over them with bundled sage & forest moss oxide inks.  I then added a few green domes with glue dots.

These are perfect to use on kraft wrapping paper or even to go with a kraft gift bag!

Thank you for visiting!

A Simple & Quick Christmas Card

We are now getting down to the wire on getting out those Christmas cards this year and if you are short on time, I have a quick and simple design for you today using the new Whimsy Stamps release!

1215-white christmas scene

I simply used the new Mountain Majesty die set with the Twinkle stencilChristmas Ellie-ments sentiments and Ocean Waves Sparkletz.

I began my card by creating an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which is the right size for your standard or 9A envelopes.

For the background, I lightly inked the center of the card with chipped sapphire and faded jeans oxide inks.  I then used the twinkle stencil and a white pen to quickly add falling snow.

1215-white christmas scene side

Next, I die cut the mountains and snowhill scene from thick white cardstock and used glitter paper for the top of the mountains.  I stamped the sentiment in navy ink before pop dotting over the mountains.

To finish the card, I simply added some clear domes with glue dots.

I hope this gives you inspiration to finish off the last of your Christmas cards or just to have some on hand for next year!

Thank you!

Whimsy Stamps and Tombow Collaboration Day 1

All week long Whimsy Stamps and Tombow will be joining forces to bring you some amazing inspiration combining products from these great companies!  Be sure to visit both companies’ blogs each day this week to see all of the incredible projects the designers have created AND to enter the giveaways!

I have always loved the Tombow’s Dual Brush Water-based markers for my watercoloring needs and now they have ventured into making new alcohol marker sets (like copic markers)!

For this card, I used these Tombow products and Whimsy Stamps products together:

For the background, I first heat embossed the Curly Q’s in white on watercolor paper.  I then colored the water-based pink marker #743 onto a piece of acetate and used a water brush pen to color in the swirls after dipping into the color on the acetate.

I die cut two stitched clouds and stamped the sentiment in black on the bottom cloud.  For the frame, I used the negative from thePeekaboo Window 1 die and trimmed to fit over the card.

Next, I made the shaker window by adhering the acetate to the back of my frame, gluing the clouds to the frame behind the acetate, and then adding the sparkletz listed above into the center.

I decided to combine water coloring and alcohol coloring on my images to add different vibrancy to my pink colors because I went with a monochromatic design.

For the bottom balloons, I used the new pink tones alcohol-based markers and I love how vibrant the colors are!  They really help the balloons to pop!  For my bunnies, I first heat embossed them in black and then used the dual brush markers #743 & #947 on the acetate and dipped the water brush in to color the images.

I hope you continue to join us this week as we share more inspiration using the Tombow products!

To enter to win the $25 gift certificate from Whimsy Stamps, simply leave a comment on each of the collaboration posts on the Whimsy blog.  All comments must be left by midnight EST on Friday, December 13th.  One commenter will be randomly selected and announced on the Whimsy blog on Saturday, December 14th.

Don’t forget to visit the Tombow blog each day, also, for more inspiration and for a chance to win an amazing prize package from Tombow!

Thank you!

Sweet Ellie

If you love the sweet Ellie the elephant stamps, you will definitely fall for this cute candy cane Ellie!  For this card, I wanted to make her the star of the scene!

1117-ellie's candy canes

I used a few wonderful Whimsy Stamps products to make this card:

1117-ellie's candy canes side

I created the bottom background by heat embossing the Illusions background in white on white cardstock for a subtle shimmer.  I then trimmed the bottom of the kraft cardstock with the scalloped edge and die cut a circle from scrap cardstock.  I used the negative from the circle cut out and centered on the kraft piece.  Next, I created the snow using the polka dot stencil and heat embossed in white over the negative.

1117-ellie's candy canes close up

I then stamped the adorable candy cane Ellie, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.

To finish the card, I stamped the Joy, wrapped some twine around the top and added some pink domes.

Thank you so much for visiting!
