50 Shades of Color

I have been loving all the bright and fun rainbow creations the past few months and haven’t tired of making them!  I have another one for you today using Whimsy stamps new August release.

0825-polka dot rainbows

I started my card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base that fits perfectly into the 9A size envelopes that you can find at your local craft store or online.

A list of the Whimsy Stamps products used:

To make the polka dot background, I taped off the part for the sentiment and inked in rainbow color over the polka dot stencil.  The colors I used were: spun sugar, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, shabby shutters, tumbled glass & milled lavender.

For the rainbows I die six of them and inked in festive berries, carved pumpkin, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, broken china & wilted violet gluing them and trimming off the edges.

I added a cloud at the end of the rainbows.  To make them shine a little, I added sparkletz in coordinating colors.

For the sentiments, I heat embossed them in black, coloring the “COLOR” with copic markers and the bottom one heat embossed on the banner.

Copic markers used:

I hope you are inspired to try some rainbow cards before we all dive into the fall and holiday cards!

Thanks!

Purr-fect Halloween Shaker!

I hope by now you have had a chance to see all the amazing variety in the Whimsy Stamps August release ranging from rainbows to Halloween and gothic!

august release-halloween shaker

The awesome Whimsy Stamps products I used:

To start my shaker card I trimmed a piece of cardstock a little smaller than the card front and inked with ripe persimmon, carved pumpkin & dried marigold and die cut the stitched circle for the shaker window.

To create the shaker, I stamped the marble background, heat embossed in black and then inked with wilted violet.  I used pop dots to seal around the window and added the sequins inside.

Next, I die cut the grass and inked with shabby shutters and twisted citron.

I then stamped the images, colored with copic markers and fussy cut out.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a stitched banner and pop dotted over the images.

Above the shaker window I die cut some clouds and inked with wilted violet.

For the embellishments, I added some stars from gold foil paper and some black nuvo drops.

A Flying Cat Witch

This Halloween Cat Witch from the new August release at Whimsy Stamps is too adorable!

august release-flying witch cat

The Whimsy Stamps products I used:

I started my card by inking a small area with black soot & hickory smoke and added the gold mousse over the star stencil.

While that dried, I stamped the cat, colored with copic markers, fussy cut out and added some wink of stella to the smoke for a bit of shimmer.

To finish up the card, I stamped the sentiment in versafine black ink and drew the lines around the edge.

I pop dotted the Flying Cat Witch and added the sparkletz and black nuvo drops.

If you haven’t seen the variety of sets from the new August release you need to see it!  There is a range from rainbows to gothic!

Thank you for flying by!

Pumpkins Under the Stars

I love these little pumpkins and wanted to create a night Halloween sky for them!

0811-halloween pumpkins

This Halloween card was created using Whimsy Stamps products:

I started my slim line card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base.

I began the background by inking with black soot, hickory smoke & dusty concord and created the stars using silver mousse.

While that dried, I die cut three levels of grass and inked each with forest moss, pine needles & peeled paint.  I also die cut the clouds and inked the bottoms with carved pumpkin & dried marigold.

Next, I stamped the pumpkins, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.

To put the card together, I layered the grass with pumpkins and added orange nuvo drops around them.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed in orange on a stitched banner and pop dotted on the side.

If you haven’t taken a peek at the August release you should see all the different styles from Halloween & gothic to rainbows!

Just Purr-fect!

This is exactly how my cat would look going to heaven!

One of my favorite things about stamp sets is using them in different ways and Whimsy Stamps new Going Catty set can be used for more than just Halloween!
The great Whimsy Stamps products I used for this card:
I love how this spazzy kitty is the center of attention on this simple card!
To start my card, I used the sun rays stencil and salty ocean & tumbled glass oxide inks to create the background in the corner.
I then die cut clouds & stars from thick white cardstock and silver glitter paper.
Next, I stamped the flailing kitty, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  I then die cut the wings from vellum and added some wink of stella to make it shimmer.
To put it all together, I added the clouds & stars around the kitty with some sparkletz stars & nuvo drops.
I finished the card with the sentiment heat embossed in white on a black banner and added one more glitter star.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the new August release you are in for a treat!  They have a huge variety of new sets ranging from rainbows to gothic!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Relaxing Rainbow

I bet you are just like me and coloring is sooo relaxing!  I guess that is why we are crafters, right?!

The August release for Whimsy Stamps in now out and has a variety of sets from rainbows to Halloween and even Emo & goth!  I went with the lighter side of things for this card!

august release-crayon slim line side

I used some new and older sets of Whimsy Stamps products:

A slim line size card was perfect for the long rainbow and started my card by creating an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 base.

august release-crayon slim line

I inked a little smaller piece with squeezed lemonade & mustard seed for the bright yellow background.  I then die cut the long rainbow, inked with a wide variety of oxide inks (I mean ALOT and will list them at the end!) and glued down.

Next, I stamped the crayon & row of crayons, colored with copic markers (again, I used ALOT of copics too and will list them at the end!), and fussy cut them out.  I layered the rows of crayons and pop dotted them along the bottom and pop dotted the white crayon over the tip of the rainbow.

august release-crayon slim line close up

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment & COLOR, coloring in the one with copics and stamping the other on vellum.  Make sure to let the ink set on the vellum for at least 24 hours to not smear it!

I added a few stars and an array of sparkletz in rainbow colors (full list above).  I added a little more shine with the wink of stella on the stars, crayons, and the word color.

I hope you take some time and visit the Whimsy Stamps FB page to see all the fabulous DT creations using the new August release!

Thank you for stopping by!
