Sweet Ellie

If you love the sweet Ellie the elephant stamps, you will definitely fall for this cute candy cane Ellie!  For this card, I wanted to make her the star of the scene!

1117-ellie's candy canes

I used a few wonderful Whimsy Stamps products to make this card:

1117-ellie's candy canes side

I created the bottom background by heat embossing the Illusions background in white on white cardstock for a subtle shimmer.  I then trimmed the bottom of the kraft cardstock with the scalloped edge and die cut a circle from scrap cardstock.  I used the negative from the circle cut out and centered on the kraft piece.  Next, I created the snow using the polka dot stencil and heat embossed in white over the negative.

I then stamped the adorable candy cane Ellie, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.

To finish the card, I stamped the Joy, wrapped some twine around the top and added some pink domes.

Thank you so much for visiting!

You Are Oh So Tweet!

Hello!  It’s Candice here with you today sharing a super tweet thank you card!  I love the versatility of this new adorable Tweetie Pie stamp set!

I used a few amazing Whimsy Stamps products for my card:

I began my card by creating an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base that fits nicely into the size 9A envelopes.

For the background, I inked with chipped sapphire, faded jeans & stormy sky and using the twinkle stencil, I filled in the circles with a white pen.

Next, I stamped the images from the Tweetie Pie stamp set, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  I added a bit of sparkle to them using a glitter pen.

I then pop dotted the images through the scalloped frames.  In between, I added stitched banners with the sentiments heat embossed in white and inked with chipped sapphire.  To finish the card, I added a few sparkly stars.

Copic Marker colors I used: BV0000, BV000, BV00, G0000, G000, W00, W0, W1 & 0

I started my backround by first inking with spun sugar, worn lipstick and picked raspberry.  I then die cut the slimline postage frame and inked over the twinkle stencil lightly with pumice stone.

1025-frosty hugs side

Next, I stamped all the penguins, colored with copic markers making sure one was different and fussy cut them out.

To put the card together, I stamped the sentiment in black and pop dotted the punguins in varying heights.  For just a bit of fun, I added some snowflakes and clear domes from the snow crystals sparkletz.

I love how the one penguin just pops against the others!

Santa’s Train Christmas Tags

Whimsy Stamps is surprising us with an extra mini release in October!  It’s not really that mini with some great additions in stamps, dies and stencils!

1025-santa train

I used a few new products (combined with some older) from the Whimsy Stamps mini release for these tags:

I love that these tags are layered so you can open them up and write your “to & from” under the flap!

1025-santa train open tags

I created my card bases by using a tag template from my cameo silhouette.  I cut 6 tags (one for the top layer to decorate), three glitter toppers and three rings for the string to go through.

I first stamped the sentiments along the bottom of each tag in versafine for a crisp print.  I set those aside to create the top layer.

1025-santa train close up

For the top layer, I inked each piece with chipped sapphire, faded jeans & blueprint sketch and die cut the bottoms using the envelope edgers and wavy edgers.  I then used shimmer white mousse over the twinkle stencil.

While that was drying, I stamped the adorable trains, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out.  I added some sparkle to each image.

To put them all together, I adhered the glitter piece over the inked stars and scored along the glitter edge to be able to open.  I then pop dotted the images in the center of each tag and added some ribbon and twine.

Copic colors I used:

  • reds-R08, R05 & R02
  • yellows-Y19, Y15, Y13 & Y11
  • greens-YG07, YG05 & YG01
  • browns-E97, E95, E00 &E000
  • greys-C7, C5, C3, C1, C0 &C00

Now you can take some time to visit the Whimsy mini release and check out all the fantastic Design Team creations on our 31 Nights of Halloween this month with your chance to win some prizes almost every day on the Whimsy blog!

50 Shades of Color

I have been loving all the bright and fun rainbow creations the past few months and haven’t tired of making them!  I have another one for you today using Whimsy stamps new August release.

0825-polka dot rainbows

I started my card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base that fits perfectly into the 9A size envelopes that you can find at your local craft store or online.

A list of the Whimsy Stamps products used:

To make the polka dot background, I taped off the part for the sentiment and inked in rainbow color over the polka dot stencil.  The colors I used were: spun sugar, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, shabby shutters, tumbled glass & milled lavender.

0825-polka dot rainbows side

For the rainbows I die six of them and inked in festive berries, carved pumpkin, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, broken china & wilted violet gluing them and trimming off the edges.

I added a cloud at the end of the rainbows.  To make them shine a little, I added sparkletz in coordinating colors.

Bright Underwater Scene!

I have had so much fun creating with these sweet sea creatures and wanted to use a new bright color palette for this card!

0820-purple underwater scene

I used these wonderful Whimsy Stamps products:

I began my slim line card by creating an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base.  They fit perfectly into the size 9A envelopes which can easily be found at your local craft store or online!

0820-purple underwater scene close up

I began the background by repeatedly stamping the sea creatures in a very light ink and die cutting the two stitched circles.  I inked the seedless preserves over the wave stencil and after taking it off I inked the whole piece with milled lavender.  To add some sparkle I added some nuvo glitter accents.

While that dried, I then stamped some sea creatures, colored with copic markers and added some accents with a white pen and fussy cut out.

Next, I die cut the coral and inked in cracked pistachio, mustard seed, abandoned coral & spiced marmalade.

0820-purple underwater scene side

To put the card together, I pop dotted the repeatedly stamped piece on the front and layered the coral behind the circles and pop dotted the cute sea creatures.

I heat embossed the sentiment in pink on a stitched banner and added some bubbles and blue nuvo drops.

Copic markers I used:

  • seahorse-Y38, Y35, Y32, B02, B01, B00, B000, B0000 & 0
  • turtle-G05, G03, G02, G00, G000, G0000 & 0
  • starfish-R02, R01, R00, R000, R0000 & 0
