Your Next Stamps Challenge #112

I finally had some time to enter into some of my favorite challenges, and I am so glad to be able to create with my Your Next Stamps again!  This current Clean & Simple theme is perfect for the Keepin’ It Reel stamp and die set for a Father’s Day card!

YNS challenge 112

I love this adorable fisherman from the Keepin’ It Reel stamp set and that you can use it for Father’s Day, birthdays or retirement!  I’m a little low on Father’s Day cards so I chose to go with that them for this simple card.  I started by trimming thick white cardstock a little smaller than my card base and pop dotting onto the front.  I then die cut two thank you circles, layered and trimmed off the overlap and glued to the side of the card.  Next, I die cut the circle from watercolor paper, inked with blue oxide inks in salty ocean, broken china, and tumbled glass and spritzed with water.

I stamped Fisherman, fish, and sign with sentiment, colored with copic markers, and then die cut out using the coordinating dies.  Next, I stamped the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock, heat embossed in white, and pop dotted under the circle.  I then pop dotted the images.

For my final touches, I added white dots on the images using a white pen and added some black nuvo drops under the banner.

YNS Challenge #100 Create a Scene

YNS Challenge #100

Your Next Stamp has some amazing stamps that are great for their new challenge, Create a Scene and I used the Autumn Harvest stamp set to create this fall card!

YNS challenge 100

This card was a lot of die cutting and inking to create the background scene using:

For the fox, mice, and sentiment I used the autumn harvest stamp set.  To create the accents on the leaves and fox I used the white uniball pen.

I love making fall cards and going apple picking and enjoyed creating this one!

YNS Challenge #99

This month at Your Next Stamp the challenge is all about birthdays.  My birthday is in April and the best birthstone ever, diamonds!  So I chose to create a card that is all bling using the YNS happy hour stamp and die set!

YNS #99 challenge

This was a quick card and I love all the shine and shimmer! I die cut the background with collage frame using shimmer cardstock.  I then die cut the banner from shimmer vellum and heat embossed the sentiment in silver.  Next, I die cut the cheers from silver glitter paper and glued down. I stamped the glasses, heat embossed in silver, used the coordinating happy hour die set to cut out and colored with silver stardust gel pen. Then I pop dotted some of the squares from the collage frame and added the glasses on them.

Inside, I die cut the stitched rectangle and heat embossed the sentiment in silver.  I stamped the glasses and die cut out using the happy hour stamp and die set.  I colored the glasses with the gel pen and added a die cut umbrella from silver glitter paper.

I love bling and it is showcased in so many ways on this monochromatic card!

YNS guest DT fall fun final

For this card, I used almost all the cute images in the autumn harvest stamp set and colored with copic markers.  I created the cloud background with a stencil and antique linen oxide ink.  I then used a stitched rectangle die on kraft paper to make the frame.  I die cut the trees and grass and used oxide inks to color and glued to the background.  Next, I die cut a fence from gold foil paper and glued to the back of the frame and pop dotted it on top.  I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and pop dotted all the colored images.

I so enjoyed using the oranges and fall greens again and if you are ready to use your fall colors join in on the new Fall Fun theme challenge.  You have a chance to win $15 YNS gift certificate to use in the store, $20 if you use YNS product to create your project!  The challenge runs through 10/4!

Your Next Stamp Fav Project

Your Next Stamp asked me to create a project using one of my favorite things.  Do you know how hard it is to just pick one!? So, to make it a little easier I went with how I choose to start my card or project and it usually always starts with which stamp set to pick.  My fav’s are definately stamp sets with cute images that have lots of punny or coordinating sentiments that go together like pb & j.  This has to be my favorite set from this new September releasesilly trash monsters stamp and die set.

YNS guest DT fave project final

To create this card I used some new and old YNS products:

I started by heat embossing my sentiment in black and then created the slimy background using oxide inks and TH distress resist spray.  I layered some wave panel pieces and inked the top one and adhered over the slime.  Next, I die cut the trash can from silver foil paper and layered that over another piece of foil paper and trimmed with scissors.  I stamped the silly trash monsters, colored with copic markers, and die cut them out.  To put it together I pop dotted the monsters and trash can and added enamel accents.

Inside, I die cut a frame and inked the bottom and stamped the sentiment in black.  I added die cut monster I colored with copics.  The trash can I die cut out of black (it was a left over since I wasn’t sure which color to use on the front) and added with the monster.  I also love how the slime goes with the sentiment!

I stamped all my images from the TRICK OR TREAT stamp set and colored with copic markers.  I trimmed them to fit behind the photo booth polaroid die.  I used some purple oxide inks as water color and created the background and then stamped the SENTIMENT and heat embossed in black.  I added the photos at an angle and trimmed the sides to fit.  Next, I stamped some candy also from the TRICK OR TREAT stamp set and colored with a glitter pen. For my embellishments, I added the googly eyes and enamel drops.

My favorite thing about this card is the photo bombing kitty!

Your Next Stamp Challenge #97

Your Next Stamp Challenge #97

I am so excited to be a guest designer for Your Next Stamp for the month of September! I created a card using both the sketch and the colors (aren’t they fabulous!), but you can create a project using one or be daring and use both!  You have until September 13th to enter to win, and don’t forget to enter also on social media for extra chances at winning! More info here.

YNS GD challenge 97 final

For this fun card I used the ever cutest chicks from the puddles of fun stamp set.  I die cut a stitched rectangle from white cardstock and stamped the raindrops using shaded lilac and wilted violet oxide inks.  I then heat embossed the sentiment with gold on a die cut smaller stitched rectangle and pop dotted on the bottom of the raindrops.  Next, I die cut the three clouds, two from white cardstock and one from vellum using a scalloped stitched die.  I inked the white ones with shaded lilac oxide ink and layered them over the raindrops.  I then stamped the chicks and colored them with copic markers.  Lastly, I pop dotted them above the sentiment and added YNS gumdrops in yellow sparkle.

I hope you join in the fun creating at YNS challenge #97, it is the last sketch and color challenge, they are changing things up for our next one!

Guest Designer for YNS in September!

Your Next Stamp Blog!

I am so EXCITED to be a guest designer for Your Next Stamps for the month of September!  I will be getting to share with you my projects for the challenges, new releases (Woohoo!), and just plain fun creations!

YNS guest DT card 1 watermark

One of my favorite stamp sets from YNS is the Keepin’ It Reel and I chose to use this for my intro card and let you get to know a little about my style.  I love, did I say I LOVE, to use stitched dies, oxide inks, and copic markers on my cards.  I also like to have white space around my cards and use geometric shapes to showcase the stamps.

For this card, I created the background with oxide inks on watercolor paper, then spritzed with water and dabbed off with a paper towel.  I then die cut the frame and added some inked die cut grass.

I colored all the images from Keepin’ It Reel with copic markers and cut out.  I then heat embossed the sentiment in black and pop dotted all the stitched pieces.  I glued the fisherman and purple fish down and pop dotted the rest.  I added some clear drops for the fishes bubbles for a little embellishment.

Inside, I inked a stitched die cut rectangle and heat embossed with black.  I stamped the ink splatters with the Mini Ink Splatter stamp set using oxide inks and added one colored shark for good measure!

I hope to see you this month at Your Next Stamp Blog and here as I share my creations with you!

YNS Sketch & Color Challenge #95

YNS Sketch & Color Challenge #95

These colors remind me of Christmas, but since I live in Minne’snow’ta, I wanted to hang onto summer as long as I can, so I went with watermelon colors instead!  I used one of my absolutely favorite stamp sets, One In a Melon!

YNS challenge 95

I shifted the sketch a little bit and added three ovals instead of one and used most of the colors in this adorable card.

I started my card by trimming a strip of the green pattern paper and gluing on the top of the woodgrain paper.  I die cut this into a stitched rectangle and then die cut it again with three stitched windows.  I glued green cardstock behind the windows and adhered to black cardstock.  I trimmed two stripes of black cardstock and glued between the two pattern papers.

I stamped the cute little hamsters using memento black ink and colored with copic markers.  I die cut the stitched banner and heat embossed the sentiment with black.  I pop dotted the banner and then the little hamsters above inside the ovals to add dimension.  For my embellishments, I added some large black enamel dots.

Inside, I die cut a stitched square and heat embossed the sentiment with black.  I added a cute hamster to the bottom corner.

YNS challenge 95 inside

Who doesn’t love cute little hamsters with watermelons?!  The One In a Melon stamp set also has a set of birds with the watermelons, which allows me to create twice as many designs with one stamp set!

Thanks for swinging by,
